Obesity is as complex as you want it to be. Reports show that everyone is worried about this incredible Pandemic. It seems to be creeping throughout the world at an alarming rate.  Is their something we don’t understand? What are we overlooking? All conventional wisdom tells us that eating in moderation and doing some form of exercise on an ongoing basic can keep us healthy. Why is it not working?

My good friend Dr. VICTOR YC ONG, PhD has shown me that their is a missing link in how we approach obesity that needs are immediate attention. I have learned that we eat for three specific reasons and not two. In all my research, their was one thing I was very adamant about, and that was why are we told that we cannot eat what we like? Every study points to fast foods, trans fats, all sugar products and many more to be very unhealthy. Why is this so? All the things we crave for are bad for us and are making us unhealthy. I did not believe that and researched around the world to confirm my beliefs. You know what, I found it. We eat for three specific reasons and not two, let me explain:

  • The # 1 reason that we are obese is that we eat too much to maintain life in today’s world. Yes we should be more active and control our stress, eat slower, walk more, get more sleep etc. We all know that but today’s hectic pace is not going to change. What do we do?
  • The # 2 reason that we are getting bigger and bigger is that much of our food is processed and not natural. This leads to malnutrition and the greater use of medicine and artificial sustenance to help us fill the void of good food. Again, this is part of science, we are living longer aren’t we?
  • The # 3 element we are all overlooking is that ferocious need we have to feed our behavior. This is all the food we eat to meet our lifestyle needs in order to maintain a healthy mind. This is when we eat for wonderful flavors, aromas, sweet, sour, bitter, salty and all the great tastes we cannot give up for long. This is the melt in your mouth section.

When you go on a weight reduction plan, keep these three in mind and make sure that you find the balance with all three that can fit  in your lifestyle. I did and will never go back to what I was before. Food for thought.
