Omega 3 Fats Can Help You Lose Weight

There are actually two kinds of fats. They can simply be called good fats and bad fats. Polyunsaturated fats are in the good fats group and omega 3 and omega 6 are both polyunsaturated fats. Monounsaturated fats are good fats too.
Omega 3 fats can be found in fix oil, canola oil, nuts and flaxseed. You can reduce your triglyceride levels if you include polyunsaturated fats in your diet as well as the monounsaturated fats. Monounsaturated fats can be found in olive oil, avocados, dark chocolate, nuts and olives. If you include at least one of the monounsaturated fats with each meal, it will help you to loose weight.
Including polyunsaturated fats in the form of fish oil has recently been proven to increase the amount of fat calories you body will burn in a day. They have found out that using fish oil in your daily diet affects your insulin levels. This in turn somehow effects how fat in your body is metabolized. Scientific studies show that insulin will slow down the body’s use of fat for fuel and at the same time it will give your body the direction to store fat instead of burn it.
It seems that insulin plays a major role in weight gain. That is why the low carbohydrate diets can lower your need for insulin and in turn, reduce your fat storage. Actually, insulin has also been proven to stop the breakdown of store fat and will convert carbohydrates into fat storage on the body.
The addition of fish oil in your diet will cause your body to burn fat as energy. Just buying fish oil over the counter will not help you loose weight though. That is because most fish oils that you find in the drug store or even in the health stores are a very low grade of fish oil. You need to find a good source of high quality omega 3 fish oil before you will see a weight loss result. You can find natural fish oil products online. Before you buy online do some research so that you wind up getting the best supplement for your money and health. Remember, studies have definitely proven that all omega 3 fats can help you loose weight. You just need to find a good source of it.
