For many of us, trying to lose weight is perhaps one of the most frustrating things to do. There are so many weight loss programs and fat loss tips available for us to listen to, finding one and sticking to it is no easy task. Fortunately, there are simple weight loss tips that will guarantee results if we are willing and have a discipline to follow through the tips.
If you have attempted to lose weight before, I am sure you know the importance of protein. However, what you probably did not know is that you should be taking in protein every 3 to 4 hours instead of stuffing in a large amount several times a week. Remember that ‘balance’ is key to successful weight loss.
Protein is one of three important macronutrients for the body. The other two are carbohydrate and fat. Protein is important for losing weight because it helps to maintain muscle mass and strengthen your immune system, heart and respiratory functions.
Consuming the right carbohydrate sources is also important in burning fat and maintaining the body’s energy level. Carbohydrate sources that should be included in your diet are: vegetables of all kinds, whole grain breads, whole grain cereals, sweet potatoes, brown rice, oatmeal, yams and barley.
Fruits that have good carbohydrate content and should be part of your diet as well are apple, banana, grapefruit, melon and orange.
To maximize fat loss, carbohydrates should not be consumed on their own, they should always be combined with lean protein source like chicken, fish, eggs, beef, veal, and lamb. White meats like chicken and fish are best. If you want to eat red meats, go lean and eat in moderation. You should also consume some good fats like Omega 3 and flax seed oil.
The recommended amount of daily protein and carbohydrate intakes are 2-3 servings. One serving would be roughly the size of your palm. Again, the key is maintaining a ‘balance’.
Last but not least, plan out a solid workout schedule to follow. Whether it is riding a bike, taking a light jog or breeze walk 3 or 4 times a week, the key is to be consistent with your efforts.
Forget about all those fad diets or fat loss programs out there, if you can follow this simple weight loss tips consistently, you will be amazed at the results you get.
