Is the Cost of Liposuction Too High For You?
Posted by admin in Prescription Obesity Drugs on July 04th, 2009
A ballpark figure for the cost of liposuction is from $2100 - $8900.
You have made the considered decision that you want to have liposuction. Some of the other decisions you have to make include picking a surgeon and working out what liposuction will cost. The price of the liposuction is often the biggest factor in your decision.
Medical tourism has boomed over the last 2 decades. Prices for cosmetic procedures have increased in the United States and Europe quite considerably. Many developing countries now have excellent health services and are a viable and cheaper option for your operation.
Factors affecting Liposuction Prices
There are 3 main factors in the price.
1. The Plastic Surgeon ” If your surgeon is well trained and qualified he or she is likely to charge more. Each country trains their surgeons differently so do a bit of research. If they are experienced they may charge more as well.
2. Where and how you have your operation ” If your liposuction is performed in the surgeons office it may be cheaper. If you need a full anesthetic and overnight stay the price will shoot up.
3. Areas treated - the typical areas for liposuction are abdomen, back, knees and thighs. Each is one area and prices increase as more areas are treated. Interestingly male fat is tougher than female, which increases the cost for men.

Liposuction Prices Overseas
It is cheaper to go abroad for your liposuction. The price is however only one point in your decision. Other points to think about include training and experience of both the surgeon and his staff, the follow up care offered and what he or she offers to do if something goes wrong.
