Many people think that an obese child is just as normal as the pimples they will get when they grow a bit older. But that’s not true in any way. Children obesity is a health problem that has extended to a considerable percentage of young people in America, mainly in the last decade when it has reached an epidemic status, and not only in the United States but in many other industrialized and emerging countries too.

Obesity used to affect just a small percentage of the population in America, either child or adult, but starting in the eighties things began to change for the bad and we are now in the situation of having close to 20% of the young population with obesity problems and with all the health issues this implies for the boys and girls suffering from this condition.

One of the conditions that is most closely related to obesity is the appearance of diabetes at early ages. Which is a disgrace in all cases due to the irreversible effects this sickness has in the body of anyone suffering from it, especially if this happens at an early age during the development of a young boy or girl.

But excessive overweight can also cause the appearance of cardiovascular problems at an early age, respiratory problems and also gastrointestinal conditions that will have an undesirable effect in the quality of life and in the future plans of a young person that suddenly will find that at such an early age as 15 years old he or she has high blood pressure or high risk of heart failure.
