Fast Food Causes Obesity - Is This Fact Or Fiction?
Posted by admin in Prescription Obesity Drugs on March 22nd, 2010
Our lives have reached an extremely high level of stress and pace. The home cooked meals seem to be a thing of the past for many people. There has been a tremendous increase in our dependence on fast food restaurants for our nourishment. This has led some people to assume that fast food causes obesity, which is only not 100% accurate.
Obesity is caused by taking in far more calories than you burn off. If you do this over a long period of time you will become obese. It is simply a mathematical equation except in the rare cases where people have thyroid problems. The main reason that people think fast food causes obesity is the high calories in the meals. A large number of meals at these establishments are close to or over 1,000 calories.
This is one half of your daily allowance of calories. Of course if you are eating meals this big you will be overeating throughout the course of the day. There are some meals at some of the fast food joints that are over 2,000 calories. This is your whole days worth of calories in one meal!
People need to understand that it is not the restaurants fault that they are obese. It is that person’s inability to make smarter choices about food and also a distinct lack of exercise. Almost all people who are obese do not exercise which will obviously lead them to keep staying in that situation.
In reality it is fiction that fast food causes obesity. It is a general lack of proper food choices and lack of exercise that create this situation. Next time someone blames to the food they should probably look in the mirror because the problem actually starts with them.
